John Ritter tells law students what they don't learn in law school. He disagrees with Gerry Spence’s criticism of American law schools that they are the morgues of the legal profession, run by it's morticians. Spence is a perfectionist who wants law schools to create perfect lawyers. Neither lawyers nor clients are perfect - - in fact lawyers often must deal with the least perfect people in our society. The following essays on Law Review, Advice to Would Be Lawyers, and Judicial Clerkships provide some insight into Ritter's views on law school, legal education, and lawyers.
